What inspired you to join PORCA’s Board of Directors? Since I moved to Pemberton, I’ve loved participating in all of PORCA’s events. After a particularly excellent après at a toonie, Bree tapped me up, and it all went from there. What’s your favourite local trail to ride and why? I love riding the Pioneer - Fizzy Pop - Dog Beach loop. It’s only a couple minutes from the garage, and it’s the perfect after-work lap. How do you see PORCA’s role in supporting the Pemberton mountain biking community? PORCA does an amazing job promoting inclusivity and raising awareness about both the current state and future of our trails and mountain biking ecosystem. What skills or experiences do you bring that will help advance PORCA’s mission? Unfortunately, I don’t have much prior presidential experience, but I really love riding bikes and roping others into doing so—so I’m hoping I can build on that. What’s your go-to post-ride snack or drink? I find it’s often quite hard to say no to a cold beer. If you could only ride one type of bike for the rest of your life, which would it be? And why? It would be my Megatower. I’ve had it since 2019, and it’s a trusty companion that just keeps on going. How do you plan to engage and connect with the members and volunteers of PORCA? At our events and out on the trails! What’s a fun fact about you that most people might not know? I probably like Taylor Swift more than is socially acceptable. What’s one thing you’re looking forward to achieving with PORCA this year? Seeing new faces at the toonies and social rides and getting new community members involved in everything we do.
