PORCA is teaming up with local mountain bike coach Lynne Armstrong to run a 6 week after school camp this spring for Pemberton kids to develop their mountain bike skills on local trails. Basic cycling skills are required, children must be comfortable using hand brakes and gears, and ready to make the progression from the sidewalk to the trails.

Participants will meet the coaches at Signal Hill Elementary School at 3pm, ride to the Community Centre with coaches to store their bags in cubbies before heading out on to the trails. Groups will be kept intentionally small with a 6:1 kid to coach ratio to ensure coaching is effective and participants remain safe at all times, the May/June camps are capped at 12 participants.

Registration opens online Monday April 15 at 9AM and will close when the camps reach capacity or 2 days before the first camp date – whichever comes first; a wait list will be held once the camps are filled. Camp questions should be directed to programs@porcabikes.com. A PORCA Youth membership is required for all participants and can be purchased during camp sign-up.


Child Tuesday After School Camps – 2019 Spring Sessions

Age: 6-8 years (Age is calculated on 31 Dec 2019)

Dates: Tuesdays - May 14, 21, 28, June 4, 11, 18

Time: 3-5:30PM

Price: $150 for 6 sessions

Meet: Swing set on railway side of SHE at 3pm

Pick-up: Outside rear of Pemberton Community Centre at 5:30PM

To bring: Working mountain bike, helmet, water bottle/camel back, snacks


Youth Thursday After School Camps – 2019 Spring Sessions

Age: 9-11 years (Age is calculated on 31 Dec 2019)

Dates: Thursdays - May 16, 23, 30 June 6, 13, 20

Time: 3-5:30PM

Price: $150 for 6 sessions

Meet: Playground in SHE big field at 3pm

Pick-up: Outside rear of Pemberton Community Centre at 5:30PM

To bring: Working mountain bike, helmet, water bottle/camel back, snacks
